As 2008 comes to a close — a great year any way you look at it — I see 2009 approaching, so whole, so full of days still to enjoy, that I can’t help but wish all of Humanity the very best for the coming year: Peace, Love and Freedom (and a little money never hurts either).
Trivialities aside, the real reason for this post is simply to link to a blog entry by Francis Lee, which I found really interesting as a round-up of open-source alternatives to proprietary software. Here it is:

You’ll surely find 95% of what you need day-to-day there (Moodle included, of course). And don’t forget that in times of crisis (yes, we’re definitely in one) you’ve got to watch every penny, and open-source licences… they’re free, dash it all!
